The result is a bold, resonant sound that fills the room and connects singers through shared rhythm and its unique harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, from 7-9 PM, to sing from&nbsp;<em>The Sacred Harp (2025)<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>The Shenandoah Harmony<\/em>, celebrating a living tradition that\u2019s as spirited as it is welcoming<\/strong>\u2014and free to attend!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Newcomers are encouraged to join us!  Each 2nd Tuesday<\/strong> there will be a workshop-style deep dive into the history and technique of Shape Note Singing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>No experience required\u2014just bring your voice and curiosity!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t have a copy of&nbsp;<em>The Sacred Harp,&nbsp;<\/em>don\u2019t worry! We\u2019ll have a few loaner copies available to use and purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that though much of the content of the music is based in Christianity, the practice itself is secular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>___________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ypsi Shape Note Group is an offshoot of the <a href=\"https:\/\/fasolamichigan.org\/?page_id=183\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"183\">Ann Arbor Sacred Harp Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ann Arbor has the longest tradition of Shape Note Singing of any active group in the state. singing from&nbsp;<strong>1-4 pm on the Second Sunday of each month<\/strong>.
